Chevron Rug Love

Are you as happy as I am that today is Friday? My week has been full of client meetings and design work which has kept me busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. It's not exactly work when you love what you're doing!
Speaking of love, if you follow me on Twitter (which you should :)), then you know that I scored this rug on a St.Patty's Day sale for 50% off! I impatiently patiently awaited its arrival and voila'. It showed up a couple days ago and it's exactly what I hoped it would be. This rug is a million times better than the old food stained, dog hair covered, frayed rug. Just saying'. Momma is happy! Now, the dog better stay off!

Jewelry Storage

How do you store your jewels? Are they tucked safely away or displayed for all to see?

Spring Rugs

With blooms in full force why not bring the vibrant colors inside with a new rug. Rugs are an easy way to add color and pattern to a space without breaking the bank. Here are some rugs that are bright and cheery.

Yard Makeover

Did everyone have a great weekend? It was sunny, and in the 80's here in Dallas. We spent almost the whole weekend outdoors planting and sprucing up the yard. Hubby was also a superstar and put A's new sand box together. Now, she has something to do rather than dig in the flower beds. Speaking of flower beds, they have a whole new look. Out with the Cabbage and Kale, and in with Boxwoods and Celosias.

The blooms on these Celosias resemble crushed velvet!

The front porch got new blooms too!

Target has a variety of colorful outdoor accessories including this lantern and votive holder. Now the chairs just need new cushions and personality. I'm thinking about these:

Did you get outdoors this weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather?

It's the Weekend

It's another sunny, gorgeous day, so we are headed to the nursery to pick out plants for our spring planting. The old plants have been removed and the bare beds are just itching for color. I'm most excited about selecting annual color for my pots. Maybe this time around I can actually remember to water them and keep them alive. Lets just say that my husband is the one with the green thumb.
After the flowers are planted, my porch can get beautified for spring. I'll share next week! :)

Tulips and a Find

I love tulips and how they remind me that spring is here. Even if it's chilly and rainy out, it feels bright and fresh inside.

The vase was a $10 find this week at TJ Maxx. I instantly knew it was perfect for fresh flowers. They magically transform a space and add new life.

Do you often splurge on fresh flowers in your home?

In Loving Memory

Instead of talking about design today I'm remembering my sweet Nannie who passed away on Saturday. It's been a long, rough week that included our travels to Mississippi to say goodbye to her. She loved spring and all the blooms it brought.
Today, take time to soak in the beauty around you, breathe in the fresh air, and be thankful for family.

Shut The Front Door

Are you gutsy enough to paint your front door a bright and bold color? Or, are you more traditional and prefer muted tones?

Louis Chair

I love the classic look of Louis chairs. This one has intricate details and a bold, modern pattern. These chairs look great in an entry, at a desk, or as seating in a living area. A chair of this sort would retail for a pretty penny.

This comparable chair is quite similar including detailing on the frame. This one however has vertical stripes and retails for $349. Not cheap, but totally worth it for a quality statement piece!

So, do you have a crush on Louis chairs and do you prefer less expensive options?
